AUTUMN
ECO- PRINTING
A really special workshop held in collaboration with Barrydale Hand-weavers, in their beautiful retail space in the heart of the Klein Karoo town Barrydale.
The workshop will be 3 hours long and cover the process of Eco-printing.
This will be an introduction to Eco-printing covering all questions you might have and include a printed workbook to take home.
You will be printing a set of placemats from Barrydale hand weavers, created from hand woven cotton made right on site. A staple product from Barrydale hand-weavers collection.
Your ticket will include all materials a light snack and beverage.
As well as a workbook to take home covering all the instructions.
Using beautiful local cotton as our canvas you can explore and choose from an array of plants to decorate your placemats with.
Eco-printing is a contact print transferred onto a fiber, a natural chemical reaction that happens when a tannin-rich plant is steamed with the presence of a mordant.
This is a magical process to witness and doesn't require any artistic ability, just a curiosity for the magic of plant colour.
This event is family friendly, children 7 years or older are welcome to book a spot too.
